It’s been 5 days since I started skiing. Antarctica is a stunning place. The wind makes it cold but it will be a good headwind for my way back. It’s maybe -15 degrees and sunny, so not too bad. The wind makes it heaps colder though. My body is starting to feel the almost 80 kilometers that I have done. I’m trying to pace myself and save some energy, but I am so happy to finally be on my way so its hard not to charge ahead. I’m about to leave the mountains for a while. From now on it will be flat, flat, flat, with sastrugis, the ripples and ridges formed on the snow. I’ve done some of the climbing, about 850 meters. So far so good for Solo Sister.
